🆘: Solicitors To Umuejeji Nekede Writes President Tinubu, Gov Uzodinma Over Alleged Reckless Seizure Of Ancestral Land By IMSG

🟢 Insists the land is their ancestral inheritance. No proper acquisition and compensation were made by the government.

The People of Umuejeji Nekede in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State Nigeria through their solicitors UB OKORO OBINNA and CO have sent an 🆘 signal to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to come to their rescue over the alleged brazen act of impunity, intimidation and flagrant disobedience to the orders of courts of competent jurisdiction by Imo state government.

The community alleged that the piece of land compromised by the defunct Agricultural Development Corporation ADC Nekede Owerri Imo state Nigeria has been a subject of protracted litigation since the year 2018 till date without tangible resolution and settlement.

Reports indicated that several actions to recover the only remaining ancestral land belonging to Umuejeji Nekede have led to a recent protest by Umuejeji women who went ‘half naked’ few weeks ago in Owerri to demonstrate this sacrilegious act by government. And still was overlooked by the Shared Prosperity administration led by His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma.

The Umuejeji Nekede land owners are calling in simple terms, the President Tinubu to as a matter of urgency call to order the Uzodinma led administration to release the land to the original owners on the basis that the said land is the only reserved land owned by the Umuejeji families for further expansion.

Our correspondent reports that the land has gone through legal processes in favour of the land owners but regrettedly till the time and date of filling this report by 9News Nigeria, the state government has given deaf ears to release the land to it’s original owners.

Speaking with Newsmen in Owerri, community leaders and Umuejeji Land owners from this area stated emphatically their terms of recovery and alleged that they have approached the Imo state government through the rightful medium to discuss terms of settlement but all proved aborted by the agents of IMSG.

Meanwhile, Vanguard National dailies and many local tabloids in Imo state including several online blogs have carried this story to the open but no tangible resolution was recorded at the time of filling this report by 9News Nigeria.

Inspite the orders of the high court affirmed by the court of appeal restraining the government of Imo state and its agents from trespassing into the said Umuejeji Nekede Land, the land has been cleared of all vegetation and economic tress and has continued threatening the land owners to stay away from their inheritance.

Our correspondent reports that the land spanning up to 500plots of land was fenced by IMSG after several efforts to resolve peacefully failed.

The Umuejeji Nekede People through their solicitors wish to bring the consent of the Federal Government through President Tinubu to call on IMSG to order to release the embattled portion of land back to it’s original owners.

Same is similarly applicable to the FUTO acclaimed false acquisition of thousands of hectres of lands belonging to Nekede- Ihiagwa- Avu -Obinze people. Regrettedly Nekede lands are seriously encumbered by several agencies of government without due acquisition and settlement.

Upon the versed portion of land Nekede people donated to the state government for establishment of both state and federal agencies, Nekede people are lacking alot of social amenities, government appointments, proper security and development of their area.

The people of Umuejeji Nekede have vehemently chorused “NO to this ugly development against their ancestral land while calling for quick intervention by FG. A call in the right direction is for the government to resolve lingering land matters and allow the owners access to their inheritance. Discussions can also open up official process of acquisition and purchase of land. “Leave our land for us, Umuejeji people cried out loud.
