Last Easter Monday turned a black day in the families of two Young Imolites who where attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen on their way to daily business.
The attack took place within Nekede towards Avu axis while they were negotiating to the Owerri PortHarcourt road as 9News Nigeria reports.
Mr Oguchi Anoruo told our correspondent his ordeal in the hands of the kidnapers. He stated that the incident took place broad day light on their way to Avu through Umuezerokam Nekede axis, where the Fulani kidnappers block them with arms.
He further stated that his passenger was still in the hands of the abductors when he took a dangerous risk to escape. He’s escape was fifty fifty life and death because the abductors were loaded with arms and machetes and chased on him.
Immediately he ran the abductors chased him and gave him a machete cut on his forehead while the others surrended the other passenger and his car.
“My car and my passenger are yet to be found while several calls to his phone number was taken by the abductors who demanded five million naira ransom for his release.
“I didn’t even know how I ran away but all I saw was the hit on my head and I kept running until I ran out of the roadside where people gathered and gave me a help to the hospital for treatment.
Further investigation reveals that this young man by name Oguchi Anuruo , hails from IRIAOMGU Ihiagwa Owerri West local government area in Owerri senatorial zone. He was attacked by the FULANI HERDERS while driving along Nekede/ AVU road in the early hours of 1st of April 2024.
Oguchi who escaped death and His hostage passenger were attacked on their way while driving towards Avu via Umuezerokam Nekede link road. Such attack on people have continued on the increase after several efforts by government to burst the forest in the area .
However, Mr Oguchi suddenly escaped from the hands of the killers with the gravity of injury sustained on his forehead leaving his second behind, in the camp of the kidnapers.
So far, the escapee is spotted taking treatment in a certain hospital in the area. Our source revealed that the idiots are demanding for a ransom of 5m Naira.
The families are Pleading with all Imolites to as a matter of urgency, give any necessary information to the arrest of the FULANI Kidnappers and possibly the release and rescue of the remaining abducted , who’s position is unpredictable.
At the time of filling this report, local vigilante and hunters security are still in regular routine search within the forest to help out. Police division in the areas mentioned are alerted of this incident that happened on Easter Monday in Owerri West , Imo State while the escapee has continued to pray to God for the safety of his passenger and other people who are passing same traumatizing situation abductors have placed the masses.
