Seventeen members of the House of Representatives on Tuesday defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), further intensifying the wave of political realignments ahead of 2027 general elections.
The defectors were formally announced on the floor of the House during plenary marking one of the most significant shifts within the lower legislative chamber in recent times.
The lawmakers who joined the NDC include: Yusuf Datti, Uchenna Okonkwo, Adamu Wakili, Thaddeus Attah, George Ozodinobi, Lilian Orogbu, Oluwawaseyi Sowunmi, Peter Aniekwe, Mukhtar Zakari, George Oluwande, Munachim Idu, Jesse Onuakalusi, Ifeanyi Uzokwe, Afam Ogene, and Abdullahi Ango.
