Akparawa Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, the immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has been shamefully screened out by the People Democratic Party – PDP from contesting the 2023 Eket Senatorial District election.

Inyang-Eyen was Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Works throughout the first term administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel. The works Commissioner was taken out the construction sites of the State and made Chief of Staff to the Governor in 2019.

Mr. Inyang-Eyen was formally screened, approved and recommended by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly to be appointed Commissioner in the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2015.

Ephraim Inyang-Eyen was Governor Emmanuel most trusted Aide running errands for the Governor in almost all areas of governance.

But suddenly the system turned against Inyang-Eyen when he indicated Interest to occupy the Senate seat of Eket Senatorial District in the forthcoming 2023 election which is at variance with the wish and zoning arrangements of his political party for his Senatorial District.

Inyang-Eyen insistence to clinch the Senate seat led to his dismissal from amongst the Governor Aides which infuriated him and caused him to join an opposing governorship political camp militating against Governor Emmanuel preferred successor.

Inyang-Eyen was screened out from the Senate race on Monday with very demeaning remarks such like he does not have First School Leaving Certificate nor a testimonial to that effect. He doesn’t have any official receipt for his declaration of age, PDP zoning policy as adopted does not support the aspirant . They stated Other reasons to disqualify Inyang-Eyen, written on his clearance certificate stated that the aspirant wrote petitions against the party and in conclusion the screening Committee, they wrote: Party not will to field the aspirant”.

The question on the lips of Akwa Ibom people now is why did Governor Udom Emmanuel administration screened, approved and appointed Inyang-Eyen as Commissioner for Works in the Governor’s first and second term while they know he does not have First School Leaving Certificate, or attached official receipt on his declaration of age documents
