2023: Fmr Deputy Governor Madumere insists Mbaitoli will reclaim place in Imo politics

BY PRINCELY ONYENWE,IMO

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has said that Mbaitoli Local Government Area was now poised to reclaim its place in the politics of the state.

Madumere, who is the leader, Mbaitoli All Progressives Congress Leaders Forum (MAPCLEF), made the assertion in a statement issued by his media aide, Uche Onwuchekwa.

Madumere said that Mbaitoli Local Government Area remains the largest if not the most populous local government in the country.

He regretted the under performance of the local government, a situation he attributed to lack of interest aggregation and harmonization.

Madumere said; “Mbaitoli Local Government area is a local government of history. It is the largest if not the most populous local government area in Nigeria.

“This lacklustre output is not unconnected with disunity, self-serving interest and disharmony among the leaders. It is about time we made sacrifices. It is about time we had a mutual and collective bargain with our sister local governments in Owerri zone.

“I am very happy with the crop of leaders we have at present in Mbaitoli, who have come together to change the tide.

“Whoever feels hurt by our actions as leaders should sheathe his sword and let us come together with mutual respect and unite our people.

“For those who are hungry for various elective positions, especially on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), we must not allow our interest to destroy our collective bargain. I wish to call on all to join hands to reposition the local government to retake its actual position in the polity.”

Eze madumere however regretted that despite available large materials, human and political resources, still Mbaitoli has performed poorly due to lack of interest aggregation and harmonization.
