LAGOS: Lagocians have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to get ready to give the country what it deserves through a well organized free and fair Election.
This call was made by Peter Obi/Datti Supporters who trooped out in their numbers in Lagos early hours of Saturday February 11-2023 to show support for the labour Party Predidential candidate.
Peter Obi was in lagos on a one day scheduled Political Campaign held at TAFAWA BALOGUN SQUARE.
Our correspodent in lagos reports that the massive turn out of Lagocians that showed solidarity to the Labour Party LP Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi was unbelievable and unimaginable.
Before now, speculations from people living outside Lagos state was that LAGOS belongs to the Yoruba stakeholders against other tribes. But such speculation is far from the truth because LAGOS is cosmopolitan state housing alot of tribes and people from all works of life and non- nationals.
The troops of Lagocians that came out from all tribes and works of life for the Obi/Datti Election rally is enough proof to state that the Lagos is more cosmopolitan than a tribal state.
However, the fight that broke out in the cause of the political rally in lagos state today was as a result of opposing forces who’s target was to disrupt the campaign process but they were resisted by the armed security.
It could have escalated to a Political war or tribal Killings but it was handled by the law enforcement agents when few people were already injured by some thugs.
Peter Obi’s supporters were bullied and many are still taking treatment in undisclosed hospitals at the time of this report.
The fight on Peter Obi supporters actually broke out when some lagos based hoodlums cum opposition thugs came out to resist the crowds but was halted.
It was alleged that the planned attack on Peter Obi’s supporters was stage managed by the opposition All Progressives Congress APC thugs and Tinubu’s Supporters.
The followers of Peter Obi were attacked on their way to the TAFAWA BALOGUN SQ as reported by 9News Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Peter Obi have thanked the people of Lagos state for showing him support on his presidential ambition and solidarity in his campaign.
In his words, Presidential Candidate Peter Obi said, “Our most profound and heartfelt appreciation goes to the People of Lagos State, the Obidient Family and especially the Lagos State LP-PCC and LOC members.
“Lagos has demonstrated why it is cosmopolitan and central to politics and good governance in Nigeria. Eko Oni Baje.
The crowds of followership in the Campaign Rally was enough signal to INEC to put every modalities ready to give the people a credible voting process and election results without manipulation or rigging.
The contest in Lagos is between Peter Obi and Jagaban Ahmed Bola Tinubu of All Progressives Congress APC party because both candidates control crowds of followership. But no one can say for sure the number of vote carrying supporters for the two candidates pending the declaration by INEC.
Recall that Jagaban Tinubu has claimed the lord of Lagos state and is not taking any chances of loosing the presidential election.
Since the peter Obi’s outing recorded such a huge success, it then means that the election will be keenly contested between the duo even in lagos state which is speculated to be Tinubu’s Constituency.
Lagocians in totality have condemned such attack on party faithful and pleaded with the law enforcement agents to mobilize their men for security mostly in this season of electioneering.
They have also pleaded with the government to provide enabling environment and maximum security intelligence gathering to submerge law breakers in the upcoming elections. Obidatti’s Labour Party campaign in lagos was a huge success and recorded alot of dignitaries and supporters.
