President Muhammadu Buhari has ruled out having a preferred candidate for the 2023 Presidential election.
Buhari stated that he does not have a favourite candidate for the 2023 Presidential election.
In 2023, he promised to hand over power to whoever Nigerians elect as his successor.
Buhari made the remarks while fielding questions from journalists following Eid-el-Fitr prayers in Abuja.
Buhari stated that he does not have a special candidate to replace him next year.
Instead, the President stated that whoever succeeds him will be “the person that Nigerians elect.”
The President also urged security agencies to step up their efforts to combat insecurity.
