Disquiet, unease, betrayal, backstabbing and witchhunt characterise the political steam evaporating the All Progressives Party( APC) Family.

High powered investigation showed that the Presidential Cabal led by Mamman Daura has succeeded in convincing President Buhari to stay neutral in the forthcoming Presidential election citing “President As Father To All”.

Further Investigations show that these men needed to get Buhari to stay aloof so as to move against Tinubu whose mandate they vowed to scuttle. It was gathered that series of marathon meetings have been held in Nigeria and abroad on how to checkmate “Jagan Borgu” to ensure he doesn’t emerge victorious in the 2023 Presidential election.

A highly placed source who spoke in confidence to this writer for fear of victimisation said that the cabal is yet to forgive Tinubu for saying that he singlehandedly made Buhari President. The cabal, it was learnt have vowed to ensure power shift to the North through the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to compensate the “New PDP” Camp of APC based on an unwritten agreement in 2015. It is based on the understanding of this agreement that Atiku was prevailed upon to drop his legal battle against his Fulani brother; President Buhari. It was agreed that since Buhari (CPC) and Osinbajo(ACN) are in the saddle as President and Vice President respectfully, the New PDP will be favoured after their tenure.

It was further gathered that to make good their plan, a political wedge was constructed between Tinubu and President Buhari using the ACN and CPC mantra claiming the CPC faithful have been dumped in the composition of the party and will be worse off if Tinubu wins.

The CBN Governor was immediately drafted into the plot to quickly effect currency change based on security reports that monies were stored and banked by politicians to induce voters and rig the elections. A stern promise of Presidential protection was handed down to him incase of any spiral effect. The CBN headhoncho immediately went into action and the policy drew the ire of some politicians who have perfected plans to use the monies stored for 2023 elections.

The affected politicians quickly went to town with some allegations against the CBN Governor and called security agencies especially DSS to apprehend him. All attempts to carry out this hatchet job failed because of the backing of a Northwest Governor and Cabal who mobilised another higher Senior Security Chief to frustrate the plots by providing soldiers and military police formation around him.

Based on the latest body language of the President towards Tinubu, the CPC camp of the APC have been emboldened to exit the party enmasse before the Presidential election to teach the APC Presidential candidate a bitter lesson. This development is also the reason why some close confidants of the President stayed away from APC campaigns to avoid entering the bad books of the cabal.

A top source who is privy to the meetings to stop Tinubu said that the defections will be done in batches to avoid giving the impression that it is betrayal. Another source confirmed massive pressure on Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP) Presidential candidate to step down and collapse his structure for PDP to ensure power shift to the North.

The knowledge of this gang-up prompted the recent metaphorical outburst of the candidate of the APC, Senator Bola Tinubu that fuel scarcity and new naira notes were plots to scuttle the election. This subtle attempt to embarrass and disgrace Tinubu prompted his apostles in the National Assembly to draw battle line with the CBN Governor to shift the January 31, 2023 deadline for old naira notes as an extension of the muscle flexing drama. The threat by the Speaker Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila to issue warrant of arrest against CBN Governor and the Managing Director of any Commercial Bank that fails to honour the invitation by the house is also connected to the plot to frustrate Tinubu’s Presidential ambition.

Despite these permutations, the candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi has been waxing strong and is ready to upset the apple cart and spring surprises based on wide acceptability of his candidacy amongst Nigerians.
