The Made-in-Aba project, an initiative of the current Abia state government, will undergo overhauling and remodeling under the leadership of the Action Peoples Party’s governorship candidate, Chief Mascot Uzor, if elected into office.
This would be in a bid to, according to Chief Kalu, expand the project, create more job opportunities, localize it, and reduce the capital flight hitherto involved in the project.
“Rather than take our youths to China for the Made-in-Aba Project, we are going to bring the Chinese to Aba to set up the factories here and train our youths. If we bring them here, more jobs would be created, while also reducing the cost of flying people to China for the training.”
Similarly, on his part, Hon. Christopher Igboko (AKA The Boy Is Good), the APP’s candidate for the Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency, promised to leverage his business relationship with the Chinese to attract investments in Aba.
Other APP chieftains that were part of today’s tour included: Prof. Osundu Akoma, Deputy governorship candidate; Hon. Eze Nnamdi Egege, candidate for Aba Central State Constituency; Comr. Chukwu Ndem, State Deputy Chairman; Comr. Emeka Adile, State Administrative Secretary; and a host of others.
The APP’s tour and Mascot Uzor Kalu’s campaign trains visited the people of Ogbor 1 Ward 10, Ogbor 2 Ward 11, and Peoples’ Road Ward—all in the Aba Central State Constituency.
