Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Policy and Communications, Daniel Bwala has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure at least two million votes from the South-East in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television on Wednesday, Bwala expressed confidence that the region, traditionally a challenging political terrain for the All Progressives Congress (APC) will deliver significant support to the President in the next electoral cycle.
“In 2027, President Tinubu will get nothing less than two million votes from the South-East,” Bwala stated.
Bwala, who recently defected to the APC, also played down the significance of the emerging coalition of opposition parties, arguing that such alliances lack the tenets and organizational structure to challenge the ruling party.
“The so-called coalition will not achieve the unity needed to wrest power from the APC. They are driven more by ambition than by a shared vision,” he said.
The South-East has historically been a stronghold of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and, more recently, the Labour Party, which secured overwhelming support in the region during the 2023 presidential election.
