Veteran entertainer and activist Charly Boy, also known as Area Fada, has issued a warning ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, declaring that “blood will flow” if electoral malpractice persists.
In a recent interview with content creator Jay On-Air, Charly Boy expressed deep concerns, calling on citizens to prepare to defend their votes at all costs.
“I’m hoping to see ‘rig and die’ come 2027. Blood will flow. Before it gets better, it will get worse,” he said.
Charly Boy’s comments have sparked intense reactions across social media, with many interpreting his statement as a call to action against systemic rigging and political corruption.
He also accused the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu of entrenching even worse levels of corruption than previous regimes.
“What we have now is corruption on steroids. What we are witnessing is ten times worse than what happened during the last administration,” he said.
The activist also stressed that Nigeria’s problems are not ethnic but systemic, cutting across all tribes and religions.
“Corruption doesn’t wear Igbo, Hausa, or Yoruba face. The political class has weaponized ethnicity to divide us while they continue to loot,” he added.
9News Nigeria reports that in recent years, electoral violence, vote-buying, and compromised electoral processes have undermined citizens’ trust in democracy.
The controversial 2023 elections, marred by logistical failures and accusations of rigging, further deepened these concerns.
“If we keep tolerating rigging, we’ll keep suffering. The people must be ready to stand firm and protect their future,” Charly Boy concluded.
