The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has advised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) not to waste its campaign efforts in the South West ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric cautioned the ADC coalition that winning any state in the South West would be extremely difficult due to the region’s political alignment and influence of President Bola Tinubu. “ADC, don’t waste your campaign in the South West.
It will be very difficult to win in these states. Focus your campaign on the South East and some parts of the North,” Ayodele stated. “Make sure you pick a candidate who can be loyal to your party; don’t pick a hungry candidate. South West will be very difficult,” he cautioned. According to Ayodele, President Tinubu remains a formidable force in Nigerian politics, describing him as “a big masquerade” with the capacity to outsmart opposition parties.
Tinubu isn’t an easy person; he is a big masquerade and someone who has the political strategy to take you out. Some of your stakeholders will betray you,” he added.
The prophet also spoke on the chances of the ADC in other regions, stating that while the South-South would be tough, the party might secure one state there if it fields the right candidate.
“South-South will also be difficult, but you can get one state in the region because the people want PDP and APC out, but it still depends on your candidate. With the right candidate, you can get it,” he said.
Ayodele, however, warned that some northern states dominated by the Fulani might not be favorable for the ADC, noting that “Kano may be difficult except APC doesn’t do the right thing.”
