The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), led by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections.
The unanimous decision was made during the APC National Summit held in Abuja on Thursday, where members of the forum pledged their continued support for President Tinubu’s leadership and vision for Nigeria.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State seconded the motion, emphasizing the need for continuity and consolidation of the administration’s reforms and development agenda.
The endorsement is seen as a strategic move to strengthen party unity and avoid internal contestation ahead of the 2027 polls.
This signals the APC’s intention to rally early behind a single candidate, ensuring a more cohesive campaign strategy.
President Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023, has implemented several economic and structural reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of exchange rates, policies that have drawn both praise and criticism.
