2027: Tinubu Will ‘Show Nigerians Pepper’ If He Wins, Says Primate Ayodele

Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a fresh prediction about the 2027 presidential election, warning that a victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could have far-reaching consequences for opposition politics in Nigeria.

Ayodele made the remarks while speaking about the political outlook ahead of the 2027 general elections. His comments were reported on September 24, 2026, following a video shared on his social media platforms.

According to the cleric, if Tinubu secures a second term, opposition politicians should expect what he described as a tougher political environment.

“If Tinubu wins a second time, he will show you pepper, all of the opposition,” Ayodele said.

He further declared that a second-term victory for Tinubu would, in his prediction, mark the end of effective opposition politics in the country.

“The victory of Tinubu is the end of opposition,” Ayodele was quoted as saying.

Ayodele also claimed that opposition politicians could face increased pressure after the 2027 election, alleging that the government could use institutions such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the courts against political opponents. These are the cleric’s claims and predictions, rather than facts.

The latest prediction comes amid increasing political activity ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), opposition parties and emerging political alliances positioning themselves for the contest.

Ayodele has made several other predictions concerning the 2027 election in recent months. In August, he said opposition parties would need to form a strong coalition if they hoped to challenge Tinubu effectively.

More recently, he predicted that Tinubu might not complete a second term if re-elected, suggesting that Vice-President Kashim Shettima could eventually take over. That prediction was also presented by Ayodele as a revelation rather than a statement based on established evidence.

Ayodele’s latest comments have added to the growing stream of political predictions surrounding the 2027 election, although the actual outcome of the election and the future relationship between the government and opposition parties will depend on political developments, voters and the electoral process.
