An eight-year-old rape victim has been found abusing a seven-year-old mate at a state-run girls’ orphanage in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, where they were being sheltered.
The startling fact that the ‘molester’ herself was a victim of child sex abuse, came to the fore when the police questioned her following the younger girl’s complaint.
What the girl said to the police left them and everybody at the orphanage shocked to shame.
“Bhaiyya ne bola ye sehat ke liye achcha hai (Brother told me that ‘it’ is good for health),” an HT report quotes the little girl’s statement to the police.
The eight-year-old orphan girl who had inflicted sexual abuse on her seven-year-old friend was a victim of rape herself.
The Bhaiyya Who Taught Her
From the eight-year-old’s story, police learnt that she had been sexually abused for nearly two months. The culprit she referred to as ‘bhaiyya’ turned out to be a peon from the orphanage she lived in earlier.
“He used to sleep with me every day. Whenever I complained of pain, he used to tell me it is good for health,” the report quoted the little girl’s statement to a Katni police officer.
This particular orphanage where the accused worked in has children under the age of six.
The accused, a 30-year-old, has been arrested.
The Two Victims
The seven-year-old had to be taken to the hospital after the older girl injured her by inserting her fingers into her vagina, says the HT report.
Police said that the eight-year-old is currently being monitored by counselors, while the seven-year-old is slowly improving in hospital.
The eight-year-old who lost both her parents a few years ago was rescued by Child Line from a train, where she was found begging.
