ANAMBRA 2021: Chief Dr. George Moghalu inaugurates Youth and Women support groups

Awka – A Chieftain of All Progressive Congress and Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief Dr. George Moghalu over the weekend inaugurated all the Youths and Women Support Groups, a coalition of youth and women support groups working in solidarity for the realization of Chief Dr George Moghalu gubernatorial aspiration. The inainauguion of all ghe support Groups is part of moves to strengthen the APC for the Anambra Governorship election in 2021 and to galvanise support for Chief Dr George Moghalu Gubernatorial ambition in the state.

The youths were drawn from the three Senatorial Zones and 21 Local Government Areas of the State, under the auspices of George Moghalu Fans, George Moghalu Ambassadors, George Moghalu Youths and Zimuzo Development Foundation Women Wing, and were empanelled to become one body to be known as George Moghalu Movement.

At the inauguration of the Group which took place at Canaan House, Awka, the Anambra State capital city, the Chairman  the occasion, Chief Okey Chidiogo said the interest of the youths is one of the major reasons Chief Moghalu is offering himself to serve the state as a Governor, so as to properly take care of them. Chief Okey Chidiogo urged the youths of Anambra to support Chief Dr George Moghalu because he is an experienced leader and administrator who would not undermine their interests and mortgage the collective future of not only the state but the entire youths.

He said that Anambra state needed a governor who would protect the interests of the youths on issues such as marginalisation and unemployment. He said the office of governor was crucial, noting that decisions taken affect lives and the future of the state. Chief Dr. George Moghalu believes that there should be a better State for our youths. He envisages all that is good for them, and this is what he is aspiring to bequeath a better society where they will use their potential to better their lives for good. Chief Dr George Moghalu respects the youths and will offer the youths all the opportunities they require to maximize their potentials”.

Speaking further, he extolled the virtues of Chief Moghalu, describing him as a man well known for his philanthropy, steadfastness and political foresight, qualities which have fetched him enormous goodwill round the state. His politics of consistency, discipline and loyalty depicts the kind of character we want as a Governor. George is the kind of leader Ndi Anambra want to have at the Government House, Agu-Awka”.

The Guest Speaker,His Honour Prince Osita Ezenwa charged the youths to always be good Ambassadors of themselves. He narrated how became a Local Government Chairman at a very young Age and urged the youths to always create values for themselves. Prince Ezenwa said that youths of the state would decide the next governor of the state through their votes. The Statistics are there and they have the number.

Prince Osita Ezenwa highlighted the impact of youths in Politics. He said the youths can be a creative force and a dynamic source of sustainable innovation; however they also face issues of poverty, barriers to education, and limited employment prospects and opportunities.

There are numerous advantages attached to the inclusion of youth in politics, having charismatic and passionate youths who are politically conscious will foster a rapid growth and development in all sectors of the economy. Also, the youths are better performers in the area of sensitization and mobilization of the electorate during electioneering campaigns. The vibrancy of youths makes them indispensable in politics as such their inclusion in politics cannot be overemphasized. If this energy is channeled well into politics it will go a long way to affirm their relevance in the polity of their countries.

Inaugurating the Support Group in Awka, Chief Dr George Moghalu expressed his joy and profound gratitude to the Leaders and coordinators of the various groups for their show of love towards him. He said that He aimed to record overwhelming victory in the governorship election, both at the Primary and main Election. He urged the Leaders and coordinators of the youth and women Groups to take his simple message, ka Anambra Di Ma Ozo, to all nooks and crannies of the State.

While appealing to them to eschew violence as they would be going about the sensitization and mobilisation, Chief Dr George Moghalu, however, said that they must all be resolute in their quest to ensure victory for him and the Party both at the Primary and main Election.
According to him, “Although we seek victory, we must go about it in a peaceful manner. We must try to avoid any act of violence; but we must be resolute in our bid to regain the state from APGA.
