– Says “No Nation can Rise above the Standard of its Teachers.”

Today being 5th of October is a day set aside to celebrate the immense contributions of Teachers to Nation Building the World over.

The World Teachers’ Day 2020 will celebrate teachers with the theme

“ Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future”. The day provides the occasion to celebrate the teaching Profession Worldwide, take stock of achievements, and draw attention to the voices of teachers, who are at the heart of efforts to attain the Global Education target of leaving no one behind.

Comrade Lukman O. Ahmed, the National Coordinator of Freedom Network Group in his usual convivial nature, felicitates with Kwara Teachers and extols their values and contributions to making our state a knowledge-based society.

He said with the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on Education, and the target of leaving no one behind, recognition and appreciation of teachers are key to the achievement of the Education 2030 Agenda.

He stressed that World Teachers Day (WTD) has become the occasion to mark progress and reflect on ways to counter the remaining challenges for the promotion of the Teaching Profession.

Comrade Lukman O. Ahmed noted that the contribution of teachers to the growth and development of nation can not be overemphasized, hence the need for teachers to be properly trained and retrained in order for them to be effective and efficient in their service delivery.

This is particularly so because no Nation can rise above the standard of its teachers, he enthused.

There is therefore the need for t
Teachers to be appreciated and rewarded commensurately for their services because as the saying goes “a labourer is deserving of his wages”.

Comrade Lukman O. Ahmed is particularly happy for Kwara State teachers due to the fact that they are opportune to have a Governor who is very intelligent and passionate about Education.

His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is a man sent by God to develop Kwara State, and in his wisdom has prioritized Education as a key resource in revamping the economy of the State, he noted.

The National Coordinator, Comrade Lukman O. Ahmed used the occasion to thank Kwara State Governor, His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his leadership and unparalleled investment in Education in the State.

No State in Nigeria as of today can match his Educational reforms and programs, he opined. He hailed Teachers in the State for embracing the the digital means of teaching and learning introduced by the Governor as demonstrated in their resilience and commitment to human development, which is exemplified in their seamless adoption of the technology.

He therefore wished the highly motivated, spirited and dedicated teachers of Kwara State a hitch free celebrations.
