Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River has charged civil servants in the state, to ensure their commitment reflect positively on their job by impacting the lives of Cross Riverians at the grass-root level.
The governor re-echoed this, inline with his mandate to the new Head of Service, of the state, Mrs Geraldine Ekanem.
Mrs Ekanem who was on a visit to the Ministry of Education, Urged the state workers to pay more attention to the grass root.
During her routine Visit to the Ministry, the Head of Service said her visit is in a bid to ensure that His Excellency’s mandate is being carried out.
Speaking during the Visit, the Honorable Commissioner for Education, Dr Amanke, assured her that His Staffs are up to date, diligent and committed to their duties and upholding the governor’s mandate.
Amanke, also expressed his happiness towards the new workers deployed to the Ministry of Education, adding that “lndeed the New Permanent Secretary along side other workers that were posted down are undoubtedly great additions to the work force.”
As part of her visit to the Ministry of Education,the head of service Addressed some boards under the ministry.
Mrs Geraldine urged members of the Board of Directors to always be of good conduct, while applauding their commitment to work as seen during her tour round the offices.
In her words “I have come, l have seen and l am impressed, there is an enormous improvement, everyone is up and doing, confirming the fact that its not business as usual”
To this end, she further called on the Ministry of Education to pay more attention to the grass root, stating that she expects education gets to every child in the grass root in any manner possible.
Reacting to the Call by the Head of Service, the Honorable Commissioner for Education, Honourable Amanke, stated that the focus of the Ministry has always been to take quality Education down to the grass roots.
According to him “we have field men there, we have executive secretaries, in every LGAs as well as an executive secretary and every zone have a coordinating supervising directors, we have effective monitoring officers who monitor education on a daily basis from school to school”
