The growth of any enterprise lies within the economic activities. Economic activities cannot thrive under failed and dilapidated infrastructure such as road network, etc. The downward statistical representation of the state IGR prior to the inception of the Shared Prosperity administration, is a clear evidence on reduction of economic activity within the State.

The contributions and key role played by quality infrastructure in the growth of economic activities can never be overemphasized. One major market price determinant is transportation. With the deplorable / bad road network Imo State had, the adverse effect would definitely be on the economic activities vis-à-vis the cost of goods, low IGR and hardship upon the people.

With the three major roads of Imo State and the minor ones, transversing and connecting economic hub cities like Aba, Onitsha and Port Harcourt, the state is strategically positioned and what benefits accrued is dependent on how the state enables economic activities to operate. Not forgetting the presence of Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Ngor Okpala Imo State – these and many more are what the state stands to benefit from the massive road construction ongoing at various sites.

His Excellency, the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, took that giant step which previously was jettisoned by awarding, to a credible construction giant, the Owerri-Okigwe and Owerri-Orlu roads. These roads offer lifeline to the enterprise called Imo State. For over a decade now, they had been in deplorable status, crippling economic activities within the areas. Upon completion, this roads would offer great benefits to the state and residents in many areas.

Within the cities of Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe, massive infra structural reconstruction are ongoing. These roads would greatly impact on the economic activities of the state which would sharply reflect on the IGR base of the state. Transportation of goods and agricultural products from the farm remains the major cause of price hike. Elimination of these by the construction of roads, would definitely lead to a drastic reduction in cost of goods and services.

The Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has continued to exemplify leadership and governance by the quality infrastructure reconstruction going on. Everywhere in the state is receiving the touch and the ripple effect would come to bare upon completion.

With other policies and programs of the administration, the new Imo road network would offer greater economic advantage to the south eastern region; open up new markets for sales of agricultural products and offer reduced cost of transportation of goods. From the rural areas to the urban cities, the economic activities would experience a move in growth.

As the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma continue in her determination for the total transformation of Imo State, it’s therefore natural for the people to support the administration to the fullest for the overall benefit of ndi Imo.
