OTAMIRI BRIDGE TAKES GOOD SHAPE AFTER OUR REPORTS
The Otamiri River bridge along Owerri- Aba road from EMMANUEL college roundabout has been put to good shape by the listening Government under Senator Hope Uzodinma as Imo GOVERNOR.
This was as a result of balanced reportage and constructive criticism of 9News Nigeria correspondent in Owerri Imo state who takes his work very SERIOUSLY and making a possible impact to improve the state.
Recall that on two occasions, the bad condition of the EMMANUEL college Otamiri River bridge along Owerri Aba road was reported by us and necessary officers of Government were contacted to identify the bad spots on our roads.
This, in no distance time, attracted the attention of the capacity GOVERNOR of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma to visit the bad spot and Promise to call back the Contractor to correct their mistake.
The road as at the time of this report is wearing a new look while the CONTRACTOR was seen onsite brainstorming with his workers to do a better channelling of water flow to the river through piping.
This without a doubt is a good response to address the demands of IMOLITES as it concerns this road.
Our correspondent reports that the road started wearing off few months after the CONTRACTOR finished the work on the said bridge whereby causing a deep ditch that became impassible by road users.
It later became so bad that only one lane was in use by motorists which also became dilapidated, making the bad spots prominent at both sides of the bridge.
It became pertinent to put the road to good use after reports went to the Commissioner of works and were transmitted to the governor for Immediate approval.
However, there are bad spots in some areas close to AIRFORCE base Naze and these are caused by the weak points of Contractors in charge of these roads.
On a chat with our correspondent in Owerri, Imolites are calling on governor Hope Uzodinma to Recall AILLING Contractors and punish them for bad work in all the project sites to befit previous administrations.
The work going on at the Otamiri River bridge along Owerri Aba road from EMMANUEL college roundabout is a welcome development by governor Hope Uzodinma and the APC Government in Imo.
The maintenance is expected to go round the roads to help the Imo Government the envy of other states in the zone. Imo people are expecting better and solid work on our roads to stand the test of time.
