Some unknown hoodlums alleged to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) / ESN have invaded a school where students were taking their Junior WAEC exams, setting their motorbikes on fire and chasing them away.

The incident took place on Monday, 13th September 2021 at Nkume in Imo State as the men alleged to be members of the IPOB’s Eastern Security Network try to enforce outlandish Sit-At-Home orders.

In an amateur video shared on the 9News Nigeria WhatsApp forum, a man was heard shouting that the newly built school where students were taking Junior Waec has been set on fire.

The Exam hall was deserted, invigilators chased away and the students, mostly girls were seen running away for their lives.

A pile of torched motorbikes were seen burning down while gunshots were heard within the vicinity of the school compound.

In a further investigation conducted by 9News Nigeria Imo State correspondent, no casualty was recorded from the gunshots but the English Language exam was forestalled and the students’ motorbikes were burnt down beyond repair.

There has been confusing issuance of outlandish Sit-At-Home orders from diverse sources claiming to be from IPOB, but the orders have followed subsequent counter orders thereby leaving the people in confusion as to whether they should sit at home or go about their normal businesses.

South-East state governors have usually made attempts to encourage the people to disregard the Sit-At-Home orders and go about their normal businesses, but these dissuasions have not been completely heeded to by the people as everyone fears the mob actions by unknown hoodlums.

The Kompuri building, the new building is on fire. The new building is on fire right now. They saw students going for their exams. They were like, OK, you people are disobeying us. So soon they’re right. So it’s a warning. ONCE THEY SAY SIT AT HOME, YOU SIT AT HOME.

OK, these are some of the students that ran away during the incidents. These are people.

These are the students’ bikes. They parked everything and burnt them. It is not, Ah! (Gunshot heard) These are the students’ bikes.

WARNING! They came inside the exam, this is the examination hall. When they say sit at home, sit at home for your dear life. Now the hall is empty. Now the hall is empty, empty. Now the hall is empty.

No, they are not joking. This is, this is a serious matter. When they say sit at home, you sit at home for your dear life, for your dear life.

Now all the students have left the exam and today is English. Yeah, today is English, they should have postponed it, at least, like Wednesday or Thursday. Eh! Now the bikes are on fire, all the bikes. All the bikes are on fire. More than, more than, more than ten bikes here are on fire.
