2023: IFEANYI UBA ALLY AND COORDINATOR IUSM COLLAPSED STRUCTURE TO APGA

Uncertainty has heightened within the camps of YPP, PDP and APC in Nnewi North, as they continue to lose party stakeholders to All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) amidst rumours of Ifeanyi Uba’s plan to join PDP. The recent defection rumours about Ifeanyi Uba joining PDP have triggered lots of defections from different quarters to All progressive Grand Alliance.

It was a tale of defections in Nnewi North as one of the most influential coordinators in IUSM Nnewi-ichi, Mr. Obinna Odunukwe, officially joins All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). Mr. Obinna Odunukwe is the IUSM coordinator Nnewi ichi ward 1, and also an ally to the senator representing Anambra South senatorial zone, Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Uba, who is currently on his way to join the people’s Democratic Party (PDP), in order to reclaim his mandate as he plans to run for a second term in office at the red chambers. Mr. Obinna Odunukwe in his introductory speech, believes he is on the right track as well as all his members in Nnewi ichi, stating that they are ready to foster peace and Partnership with the current Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for a better development in the State, other than being an opposition.

The defectors who were on Sunday evening unveiled to the party members at Obi- Nnewi-ichi by the APGA Local Government and ward (1) chairman Nnewi-ichi, Hon Chike Agwuncha and Hon Afam Agina respectively, as well as many other APGA stakeholders.

Many of the defectors who were in company of their followers in their former Political party expressed joy as they return to APGA which they said was their mother party as well as where they first started their Political career.

Mr. Obinna Odunukwe, While addressing APGA faithful at Obi- Nnewi ichi on Sunday evening, expressed satisfaction with the current APGA leadership and ready to work with all in order to get victory for the party come 2023 general election. He however pleads for good Partnership irrespective of their previous party differences.

Meanwhile, Mr. Obinna Odunukwe also informed APGA faithful in Nnewi-ichi on the current status of IUSM Nnewi-ichi, he therefore stated that they are now full Members of APGA.

The APGA LG chairman and ward (1) chairman, Nnewi-ichi, congratulated the new entrants, saying that they made the right decision by joining the leading party in Anambra State.

“You have taken the right decision at the right time. You will enjoy all the rights and privileges of the party”, the chairman assured.

Also, the defectors promised to deliver their chapters and polling units to the party come February 2023 General election. Meanwhile, there were clashing of interests from 3 different aspirants in the party who at the Event officially declared their interest to run for state house of Assembly, to represent Nnewi North constituency.

The first person whose name is Ibeneme Onyeka, followed by Bar. Obinna Uba and finally Hon. Peter Nwosu aka Peter NUPENG, all from Uruagu.
