Reports reaching 9news Nigeria shows that Tinubu is meeting behind closed doors with PDP governors in London when his counterparts in Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi and PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar were speaking at NBA conference in Lagos, Nigeria.
The APC candidate, though represented by his deputy, it was learned that he left Nigeria ahead of the conference to avoid embarrassment that may arise during the speaking engagement. It was gathered that the smeeting with PDP governors having crisis of confidence with Atiku was strategically fixed to avoid the prying eyes of the media from the APC candidate’s whereabouts.
Tinubu is currently in a closed-door meeting with Governor Nyesom Wike, alongside Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, in furtherance of his political consultations to woe them to work for him.
A source privy to the meeting confirmed to 9news Nigeria correspondent that Tinubu is meeting with Wike alongside Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
The governors on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, it was learnt, left Nigeria to meet with Tinubu on Monday night.
Governors Ortom and Makinde who have been close allies of Wike demonstrated brotherliness with their presence.
Although details of the meeting were yet to be ascertained, it may not be unconnected with potential alliance of Wike to cede support for Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.
Wike has been widely speculated to leave the PDP, following his fallout with Abubakar Atiku, who defeated Wike to clinch the PDP ticket in May.
Since Wike lost PDP presidential primaries to Atiku, he has been heaping jibes and jeers to Atiku and other top ranking members of the party.
Though it was widely reported in some online media that the meeting held in France, but 9news Nigeria can authoritatively confirm that the event happened in London.
