Former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim has conveyed his condolence message to Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu and the good people of Abia over the death of the Governorship Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prof. Uchenna Ikonne.
Our correspondent had reported that Prof. Ikonne died on Wednesday after battling with undisclosed illness.
Reacting over the ugly incident, Senator Anyim described Prof. Ikonne as a dedicated,disciplined,focused and result driven leader.
The former Senate president further said that Prof. Ikonne’s death is a huge loss not only to the good people of Abia State but also to the South-East and Nigeria at large.
Senator Anyim prayed to God to grant Prof. Ikonne’s soul an eternal rest.
