As the Ondo State governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, is preparing to appoint members of his cabinet, his wife, Betty has asked the governor to make representation of women in his government to be 36 per cent.

The Ondo first lady made the call on Wednesday while speaking at the 2017 International Women’s Day celebration held at the Democracy Park, Akure, the state capital.

She said 35 percent women in the current administration was not too much, saying more women in government would bring about better performance of the administration.

She stated that it was high time women were given the opportunity to be in charge of political and elective positions in the country, saying women were better managers of resources.

She said, “You can rest assured that this administration is ready to support women and girls to be the best they can be. I am a woman and I am bold for change and I encourage all women to be bold for change.
