The Lagos State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of the murder of Adeniyi Sanni, an aide to Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi. Three male suspects have been apprehended in connection with the robbery and murder. This development was announced by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, during a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja.
9News Nigeria Crime and Investigation learnt that Sanni was accosted by some individuals at a checkpoint in Ojodu Berger on his way to his house in Lagos.
On August 5, Adeniyi Sanni met a tragic end when he was intercepted by unidentified assailants at a checkpoint in Ojodu Berger while en route to his home in Lagos. The robbers attacked him, resulting in his untimely death. This shocking incident sent shockwaves through the community and raised concerns about the safety and security of individuals in the area.
Following extensive intelligence gathering and investigative efforts, the Lagos Police Command successfully apprehended three suspects believed to be directly involved in the robbery and murder of Adeniyi Sanni. The suspects have been identified as Fred Azeez Okuno, a 43-year-old resident of Lagos; Lucky Idudu Michael, a 33-year-old from Delta State; and Adedigba Segun, a 26-year-old from Ibadan, Oyo state.
During the arrest, the police recovered three firearms, including the weapon used in the murder. This significant breakthrough in the investigation is a testament to the commitment and professionalism of the Lagos State Police Command in ensuring the safety and security of the community.
“Through painstaking intelligence and investigative activities which brought out the best in the capacity of Lagos Police Command, we have succeeded in arresting the syndicate of the robbery and murder. The three suspects directly involved in the robbery and murder were arrested with three firearms including the killer’s weapon were recovered,” Lagos CP said.
