ADAMAWA: Some communities in Adamawa State are likely to get electricity soon.
This is following the approval for the completion of an abandoned electrification project by the state government six years ago.
The contract, which was first awarded in 2007, has reached to only about 20% level and then abandoned.
The project is for seven communities in Gombi Local Government area of the state and to be completed in a year.
Mrs Neido Geoffrey Kofulto, Adamawa commissioner of information and strategy disclosed this to newsmen in the state on Wednesday after the state’s council meeting.
According to her, the project was awarded at the cost of N44 million in 2017.
However, she noted that the current administration has decided to complete the project and has awarded at the upward reviewed contract, the sum of N192 million to Galazy Rays Ltd.
‘Part of the contract specifications is that it would be delivered within the next 12 months,’ she added.
The commissioner listed Fahar, Guyaku, Kaulewa and Mbewa are among the villages to benefit from the contract.
