The Special Adviser to Imo State Governor on Orientation, Chief Fidel Onyeneke has stated that Imo would enjoy greater political emancipation if the Charter of Equity is replicated at the Zonal and Local government levels.
The SA further stated that Imo people have been asked to imbibe the principles of peace and fairness as enunciated in the State Charter of Equity in order to ensure an enduring political growth.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Imo Orientation Agency, Chief Dr Fidel Onyeneke made the appeal in Owerri on Monday while addressing Newsmen.
Chief Onyeneke said that the adherence to the Charter would minimize bickerings, mudslinging and other violent activities during the Gubernatorial elections.
He revealed that appropriate machinery had been put in motion to educate and enlighten the Imo Electorate on the provisions and the
numerous advantages of the Charter of Equity towards the socio-political enhancement of the State.
According to Chief Onyeneke, Public Advocacy and engagement will be used to enable the populace assimilate the full contents of the Charter in the various Communities.
The Special Adviser commended Imo Elders and Leaders for playing a prominent role towards the adoption of the Charter as a deliberate effort to further enhance unity, oneness, brotherliness and progress.
Chief Onyeneke urged the electorate to support the re-election of Governor Hope Uzodinma on November 11 so that he would handover to Owerri zone in accordance to the provisions of the Charter.
The Special Adviser admonished Imo people to remain their brothers keepers and shun all acts that could lead to breach if peace at this election period.
