Famous British Rock band, Coldplay is countersuing their former manager, Dave Holmes, for rising tour costs and taking out loans without their knowledge.
Holmes, who split with the band after 20 years, is suing them for $12 million due to commission unpaid and backing out of a contract.
In response to these assertions, Coldplay claims Holmes owes them $17 million in damages due to spending errors he made on their latest tour.
The band further claims that Holmes took out personal loans as big as $20 million from Live Nation, using his status as Coldplay’s manager.
However, a spokesperson for Holmes says the countersuit does not overshadow the legitimate suit regarding the unfulfilled contract.
“Coldplay had a contract with Dave, they are refusing to honor it and they need to pay Dave what they owe him”, Dave Holmes”. Spokesperson said.
