The Federal Government of Nigeria on Saturday 18th May, 2024 appointed Hon. Mohammed Salihu (Abba Girei) as a member of the governing council of the Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Oyo State.
The development came barely four days after the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) protested the non constitution of the governing councils almost one year after dissolution by the government.
Hon. Salihu is a Nigerian seasoned politician, who was the federal house of representatives member representing Yola North/Yola South/ Girei constituency in the 10th National Assembly from 13th June 2023- 18 October 2023.
Hon. Salihu is dedicated to service, exemplary conduct, and beholds a vast wealth of experience,making him a most deserving recipient of this significant responsibility.
The former legislator has demonstrated his commitment the education and training of young Nigerians, sponsoring WAEC and NECO examinations for the people of Adamawa.
This is an evidence of President Tinubu’s integrity and quest for competence in his administration.
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, disclosed in a statement that inauguration and retreat of the councils would hold on May 30 and 31, 2024.
