The CTC chairman of Obio Akpor local government, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo, is again asking the minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, to stop distracting Governor Siminalayi Fubara through different antics and with his stooges.

He is advising the immediate past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, to rather focus on his job as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo said this during his appearance on VIEWPOINT, a live radio interview program on the number one station in Port Harcourt, Rhythm 93.7fm.

The CTC chairman of Obio Akpor local government asked the FCT minister to direct him to pick any of the items he must have forgotten at the Government House, Port Harcourt while serving as the governor.

“Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike served as governor of Rivers state for eight years without any interruption from any quarter not even from those like the former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife who were instrumental to his emergence in 2015, don’t also forget that we have other former governors like Sir Dr Peter Odili, Rt Hon, Chibuike Amaechi who left the scene the moment their tenure ended, so we want Chief Wike to do the same. If he forgot anything at the Government House, Port Harcourt, he should feel free to send me to pick it up for him as his brother, but we cannot have two governors at the same time”.

The Obio Akpor council boss, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo, told everyone who cares to listen that the people of his LGA have resolved to stand by Governor Siminalayi Fubara under any circumstance.

“We will not change our position nor support for Governor Fubara no matter the intimidation and harassment from the FCT minister nor his agents, we voted for this governor in 2023 and we will stand by the mandate till 2027 and then renew it for a fresh term of another four years because the governor is a man who has conscience and means well for the overall good and growth of the ordinary people of Rivers state, if they want us to stop supporting his Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, then they should tell us his offense or forever remain silent”.

On his achievements since mounting the saddle two months ago, the CTC chairman of Obio Akpor local government, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo said he has invested in the critical sectors including security, healthcare, education, and human capacity development popularly known as stomach infrastructure through grants to women, traders and youths, distribution of twenty transformers to the different communities et al.

He promised to do more to lift the people of Obio Akpor local government out of poverty in the remaining weeks of his tenure before the October 5th local government election in the state as directed by his boss, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara.

On the many calls for him to throw his hat into the ring for the chairmanship election come October 5th, 2024, the CTC chairman of Obio Akpor local government sounded it loud and clear that he will only accept the calls to join the race if Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his political leader gives him his blessings.
