A Traditional ruler from Benue state,HRH Zaki Pius Igbaukum Nyitse,{Kindred Head,Mbakpichie/Mbakyor, Mbadyul} of Ugondo,Logo Local Government Area,Benue State, was kidnapped in the early hours of Friday Morning at his residence at Ugondo-Mbadyul by unknown Gunmen.
9News Nigeria gathered that an Academic Doctor, simply identified as Dr.Msughter,was also shot dead at Abeda Shitile,Anyiin-Ugba road.Recall that, Logo local government area of Benue is also from the “Sankera” axis.An axis that have recently experienced gunmen and militia attacks unabated.
Also, in a similar situation HRH,Zaki Donald Akpera,Tyo-Gbenda,Yonov,Yatiev,Ugondo,Logo Local government area of Benue State, escaped assassination by the whiskers as bullets were rained on his official vehicle by gunmen said to be from the same axis.
Some of the eye witnesses from the axis who confided in 9News correspondent,says the attackers came in their numbers shooting sporadically before heading to the Traditional rulers residence and abducting him to an Unknown destination as others scamper for safety.
Reacting to the sad incident the Logo local government Traditional Council Benue State, calls for the Imidiate release of HRH,Zaki Igbaukum with Imidiate effect,they also call on the Benue State government to beef up security in the affected areas of the axis in other to curtail future occurance.
As at the time of filling this report security were drafted to the affected area, although arrests were yet to be made regarding the incident.
