Media personality, Nandi has explained her take on the controversial topic ‘Feminism’.
Nandi revealed what she thought feminism was via her X handle on Friday.
Recall that social media has been cluttered following the recent happenings surrounding gender equality and roles. Many users expressed frustration over the current ‘Gen Z’ trend of ‘wokeness’ and feminism that disparages the natural beauty of gender identity.
According to her, the widely debated topic was more of a “cancerous mindset”.
She explained that; “Feminism is really simple. If a woman gets her way, she’s empowered. If she doesn’t, she’s oppressed. Her success is her own, while her failures are always someone else’s fault.”
She opinionated that the recent idea of feminism borders on selfishness and reliance on others.
However, fellow observers had interpreted their various understandings of the concept as “equal rights and opportunities between men and women”.
Feminism according to britannica, is the the belief in social, economic, and political equality of the sexes.
