The National Chairman of the Action People’s Party, Hon Uchenna Nnadi, reacted to the ongoing news that the upcoming local government election in Rivers State won’t be held.

Just today, Monday, 30th September 2024, information revealed that the federal high court in Abuja has issued an order that INEC should not give out the Voters Register to Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), stating that the local government election will not be held.

The National Chairman of the Action People’s Party responded to the circulating news that the federal high court ordered that there wouldn’t be an election in Rivers State on the 5th of October.

Hon Nnadi said no one has the civic right or authority to stop the forthcoming Rivers State local government election; it’s the civic right of Rivers people to vote for the candidate of their choice, and that’s their right.

Those who claim that Rivers State belongs to them cannot stop the forthcoming local government election.

“Nothing can stop the local government election exercise,” he added.
