The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has addressed President Bola Tinubu regarding the acclaimed CNG buses.
In a statement issued by Henry Okunomo, NANS Senate President stated that despite claims of distribution, no buses have been handed over to their leadership.
He urged President Tinubu to caution agents within his government causing division among students.
According to him, “NANS’ leadership, led by Comrade Pedro Chibuzo Obi, resulted from a seamless transition from the previous administration under Comrade Usman Barambu. We emphasize that President Tinubu’s ascension to office was facilitated by a peaceful transfer of power. We expect similar respect for our organizational structure.”
Key Demands:
- Immediate Clarification: On CNG bus distribution claims to clear up any misconceptions
- Warning to Cabinet Members: Causing division among students, urging them to cease their actions
- Proper Handover: Of buses to NANS leadership to ensure seamless coordination
We caution against false allegations, as no single bus has been received from the Federal Government. We hope this false handover of buses won’t lead to crisis, considering the country’s already volatile state.”
