Buhari Arrives in Maiduguri to Console Borno State Over Recent Flood Disaster

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Maiduguri today to offer his condolences and support to victims of the recent devastating floods in Borno State.

Welcomed by a host of political and government leaders including Governor Babagana Zulum, Senator Ali Ndume, and other state dignitaries, the visit follows recent devastating floods in Borno State that left communities in turmoil.

The former president, who had been on vacation during the tragic incident, returned to join Borno’s leadership in mourning the lives and properties lost in the flood. 

Upon arrival, Buhari was greeted warmly by officials and local leaders who have been coordinating relief efforts to assist affected communities. 

His first stop was a visit to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, where he expressed solidarity with the traditional ruler, the government, and the people of the state.

In his message, Buhari offered words of comfort to residents, acknowledging the resilience of Borno State in the face of recurring challenges. 

He also commended Governor Zulum’s government and local authorities for their rapid response to the crisis, highlighting the importance of unity during difficult times.

Buhari’s visit brings national attention to the situation in Borno, underscoring the urgent need for continued relief and reconstruction efforts. 

Governor Zulum has already mobilized resources to provide immediate support to affected families, with the hope of rebuilding and strengthening the state’s infrastructure to prevent future disasters.
