The Transmission Company of Nigeria, (TCN), Bauchi Region, has successfully commissioned a new 1×160/75 MWA power transformer at the old Bauchi 132/33KV Substation in the Jos-Sub Region on December 9, 2024.
The newly commissioned transformer replaces the previous 1×30 MVA transformer, increasing the Substation’s capacity from 80 MW to 128 MW.
This upgrade significantly enhances the delivery of bulk power from the Jos Electricity Distribution Company, JEDC, to Bauchi State and its environs.
This achievement is part of the ongoing TCN-World Bank-funded projects aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s power supply infrastructure.
The project demonstrated TCN’s commitment to improving the reliability and efficiency of the national grid.
