The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, organized a feast to celebrate Christmas with soldiers in Maiduguri.
The army chief used the occasion to praise the troops recent achievements in the northeast region.
He said their sacrifices and loyalty in defending the nation will not go unnoticed.
He reassured them of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s committed to providing them with advanced equipments to end the insurgency.
The army chief also noted that the military’s goal is to bring a swift and decisive end to the insurgency, adding that they are working hard to achieve this objective.
To the wounded soldiers, Oluyede said that the Christmas celebration was an opportunity to honor their bravery and dedication.
Also present at the feast is the state governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Bukar Tijjani.
While speaking, Tijjani expressed gratitude to the soldiers on the front line and reminds them of the state government’s commitment in helping the army in the fight against insurgency.
The SSG also announced a ₦2 million cash donation for the wounded soldiers.
