Minister for Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, today, received in audience, executive members of the Junior Chamber International (JCI Nigeria) to discuss partnership opportunities with the ministry.
The team, led by the National President of the JCI Nigeria, Ms Oluwatoyin Atanda in her address, appreciated the Minister for receiving the executive of the JCI Nigeria while seeking to build a strong relationship with the ministry which is aimed at enhancing skill development and advocating for individual, business, and international opportunities for Nigerian youth. According to Ms Atanda, 60% of JCI Nigeria members are entrepreneurs and are willing to benefit from various youth-focused initiatives of the government.
She also emphasized the readiness of the youth development organization to assist the government with campaigns in support of the
“1 Youth, 2 Skills” mantra of the Minister. She also briefed the Minister on other plans and projects of the JCI Nigeria for the year which include an entrepreneurship program, human duties project, the Leadership Digital Academy, conferences, and the national convention of the body.
The Minister, in his response, emphasized that the focus of the Ministry of Youth Development is partnership, expressing the willingness to have the JCI Nigeria as a collaborator to drive the various initiatives of the ministry.
He proceeded to assure the JCI Nigeria of the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards youth development and empowerment.
He stated that the present administration will keep working to deliver youth-focused initiatives that would drive the youth of the country to greater heights.
The Minister also charged the JCI to be the agent of the ministry, and to champion the call for growth, empowerment, and leadership among Nigerian youth.
