Following the establishment of the Ministry of Livestock Development, earlier by Borno State Government, the ministry is initiating new inputs towards the enhancement of the livestock sector.
These actions are parts of its broader strategy for economic transformation and food security in the state.
Spearheaded by the Deputy Governor, Umar Usman Kadafur as its pioneer commissioner, the ministry has started developing the infrastructure needed for its development.
In a recent visit to the Ngaranam Livestock Settlement in Mafa Local Government Area, Kadafur inspected key facilities in preparation for the their official commissioning.
The commission is scheduled for Today Saturday at Mafa.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment towards that direction, the deputy governor earlier emphasized the importance of modernizing facilities, improving working conditions, and building strong partnerships with stakeholders in the sector.
“The Borno State Government is determined to unlock the potential of the livestock sector, and we are committed to working closely with all stakeholders to achieve this goal,” he said.
The transformation of the livestock sector is expected to drive economic growth, create employment opportunities, and bolster food security across the state.
Also by prioritizing innovation and sustainable practices, Borno will encourage livestock production and position itself as a model for livestock development in Nigeria.
