The Executive of Akwa Ibom state Gov. Umo Eno’s newly approved ₦80,000 Minimum Wage as being tagged by many Civil Servants as A Perfect Blend of Experience and Fresh Air,A New Dawn for them and presently Changing their Lives in the state.

According to Aniebiet Francis , a residence in the state who paid a visit A week ago, share his experience when he visited the mechanic to pick up his car after repairs.

The mechanic-in-chief is in his early fifties, but his assistants, all younger men in their twenties and thirties, handle much of the work. When He arrived, the mechanic wasn’t around, so he began steaming the car for the assistants to confirm everything was in order. After they checked it thoroughly, they gave me the green light to go. However, as he was about to leave, the shop owner appeared at the entrance. He asked him to reverse into the workshop, which he did, and signaled for him to open the bonnet.

After uncovering the engine, he pointed out a sound his boys hadn’t noticed, and explained what needed to be done. The young boys scrambled to search for tools, while the owner worked on another vehicle.

After about forty-five minutes of waiting, He couldn’t help but express his frustration. The mechanic-owner turned to the boys and asked why the task was taking so long. They explained that the job couldn’t be completed because a part had shifted, making it impossible to reconnect the components without alignment. With a confident smile, he suggested a simple solution, earning the admiration of his assistants: “Master! Boss!” Curious, He asked how he came up with such a clever fix. He replied, “I started working on cars at the age of five. My father made sure I learnt, and I’ve spent forty years mastering this craft.”The young assistants had the physical strength to move heavy equipment and crawl under cars, but it was the mechanic’s wealth of experience that allowed him to diagnose and solve the problem efficiently. His deep knowledge not only saved time but also alleviated their work burden.

It’s a perfect illustration of the saying, “No matter how wealthy a young person may be, they don’t have the same quantity of rags an elderly person does.”That experience at the mechanic’s workshop taught Him a profound lesson about the importance of balance.

Despite his wealth of knowledge, the mechanic would have limitations without his assistants, just as they, in turn, need his wisdom to guide them. This lesson on balance resonates with the ongoing debate surrounding Governor Umo Eno’s commissioner nominations.

Many have expressed their opinions on social media, with some criticizing the Governor for including former federal lawmakers on his list.

However, this list also features young individuals in their early forties, some with limited political experience or no notable political history, and others who have only recently served as Senior Special Assistants to the Governor. These younger appointees, though full of potential, will greatly benefit from being surrounded by individuals with a wealth of experience to help them navigate their roles in the Executive Council.

Governor Eno has emphasized the importance of selecting individuals who understand his vision and can contribute to its realization.

Years of experience in governance are not just advantageous but essential to the success of his team.

Much like a well-coached football team, where experience plays a critical role, the inclusion of seasoned players is often the key to achieving results.Governor Umo Eno’s cabinet choices reflect a strategy of blending fresh perspectives with seasoned expertise and experience.

By including young individuals alongside those with extensive political backgrounds, the governor is crafting a team that can benefit from both innovation and proven knowledge.

This balance mirrors the dynamic found in many successful teams, whether in sports or business, where the combination of new talent and experienced leadership creates a well-rounded team.

Governor Eno’s approach is designed to harness the strengths of both to effectively implement his vision for the state. This serves as a reminder that effective governance, like any other endeavor, thrives on balance

Governor Eno, in his wisdom, has created a balanced team that combines fresh energy with seasoned expertise. It’s a thoughtful blend that is set to drive the desired outcomes, as the right mix of new ideas and time-tested leadership ensures long-term success. Trust in his ability to lead this balanced team to achieve his vision.

According to a Eunice Egarevba a news writes at the Ministry of Information, Akwa Ibom State in the state, shared that life for civil servants in Akwa Ibom State, improves significantly.

The recent implementation of an ₦80,000 minimum wage by Governor Umo Eno has become a lifeline for many families.

From market stalls to school fees, hospital bills to house rents, the economic ripple effects of this change, transforming lives and fuelling new dreams, are palpable.

Grace Etuk, a junior administrative officer at the state secretariat, cannot hide her excitement. “Before now, meeting basic needs was a struggle. I had to take loans every term to pay for my children’s school fees and manage daily expenses.

But with this new minimum wage, life is becoming easier,” she says with a relieved smile. For Grace, the pay rise means no more skipping meals some days or delaying essential payments. She now talks about saving towards a small side business to secure her family’s future. The impact extends beyond civil servants. In the bustling Uyo markets, traders are also sensing the difference.

“There’s more cash in circulation now,” says Edidiong Akpan, a fish seller at the popular Akpan Andem Market. “Customers are buying more fish, and some even pay upfront, which wasn’t common before.”The new minimum wage has triggered an economic chain reaction, stimulating local businesses and boosting purchasing power.

Restaurants, barbershops, and transport operators are reporting increased patronage.Economist and financial analyst Dr Aniefiok Umoren believes this move is a masterstroke for economic growth. “The increase in the minimum wage will significantly raise consumer spending.

It will also encourage more local businesses to expand, creating additional jobs and reducing unemployment.”

For DayeAbasi Godsien, a senior Information and Public Relations Officer in the employ of the state government, the saying “to whom much is given, much is also expected” holds particular relevance in this context. “Workers should reciprocate this gesture by maintaining commitment and diligence in their duties.”

According to DayeAbasi, “beyond merely fulfilling obligations, the new minimum wage has far-reaching benefits; a well-paid workforce tends to be more productive.

“As Pastor Umo Eno’s administration continues to implement policies that improve the welfare of its people, one thing is clear: this new minimum wage has set the stage for a more hopeful future in Akwa Ibom State.
