The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) successfully coordinated the emergency response to a tanker accident along Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway in Kaduna.
Emergency responders swiftly transferred the fuel to another tanker, averting environmental and safety risks.
The operation was a collaborative effort involving multiple agencies, including the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency, the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), and the Federal Fire Service.
Other key stakeholders in the response included the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS), the National Orientation Agency (NOA), the Kaduna State Disaster Management Platform (DMP), and various media partners.
These agencies played crucial roles in traffic and crowd control, operational coordination, and humanitarian services.
Authorities commended the seamless coordination and public cooperation during the intervention.
