The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched an investigation into the reported invasion of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) by its personnel following a power disconnection at the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base in Ikeja.
The incident, which allegedly involved NAF personnel storming the IKEDC office in response to the power outage, has raised concerns over the conduct of security forces in civil matters.
In a statement released Today, the Nigerian Air Force assured the public that it is committed to maintaining professionalism and would ensure a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
“The Nigerian Air Force does not condone any form of misconduct by its personnel. A full investigation has been launched to determine the facts and ensure appropriate action is taken,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, IKEDC officials have yet to issue an official response to the development.
