
The House of Representatives has introduced a bill seeking to prohibit Nigerian pubic and civil servants, along with their immediate family members, from using private schools and healthcare facilities.
According to the sponsor of the bill, Hon. Amobi Ogah, the proposal aims to eliminate potential conflicts of interest, restore public confidence, and compel improvements in the quality of public education and healthcare services.
“The bill intends to prohibit all public and civil servants, including their immediate family members, from patronizing private schools and healthcare services in order to avoid conflict of interest, maintain public trust , and ensure high, uncompromising standard and integrity of these public institutions”, Ogah stated.
