His brace on Saturday also took him up to 38 goals in World Cup qualifiers, two clear of Lionel Messi and only one behind all-time leader, Carlos Ruiz of Guatemala.
The soccer great has recently signed a new contract with Saudi Arabian club – Al-Nassr and lead Portugal to victory at UEFA Nations League last summer.
The World Cup is one major trophy that elude him – leaving him behind his great rival Messi, who lifted soccer’s biggest prize with Argentina in 2022.
