Following the recent resurgence of terrorists’ activities in Borno and other parts of the northeast region, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelv Aneke, has arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State’s capital on Monday morning.
This is his maiden operational visit to the state after his appointment and was received at Maiduguri Air Force Base by the Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai, and other senior air and military officers.
He is in the city to assess air operations, boost troop morale to improve coordination in their operations in the fight against terrorist groups in the northeast.
The Air Chief will also tour key operational facilities and receive briefings from sector commanders.

Among other things, the Air Chief will also meet aircrew and frontline personnel and address troops during a durbar ceremony.
Similarly, the Air Chief is expected to also meet with the state governor and the Shehu of Borno on a courtesy visit.
