The former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has said that the recent killings and abduction being experienced across the country are politically motivated.
Kalu said this in a recent interview with Channels TV, according to him, bandits carrying out recent violent attacks in different parts of the country were sponsored by politicians to detrabilize the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He argued these politicians want Tinubu to fail and then frustrate him just as they did to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
He, however, did not disclose the names of the alleged sponsors.
“What we are seeing is always a routine, something that goes with the elections, and when you have an election, people will try to pressure the government in power for all kinds of things to start happening.
And you can remember when President Jonathan was here, a similar thing happened.
They put a lot of pressure to the President. And the terrorists and the bandits are orchestrated by some members of the international community and local people who really want to detrabilize the government”, he stated.
