Gunmen have killed 13 people, including three pregnant women, in a night attack on Ngbra Zongo community of Kwall District, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The assault occurred in the early hours of Friday, May 8, 2026, leaving several others injured and many residents fleeing into nearby bushes.

A community leader, Lawrence Zango, confirmed the killings on Friday, Zango said three of the victims are pregnant women.

He described the incident as very unfortunate because it is the same village that has experienced attack in the past which led to the killing of a pastor and several others.

They were said to have moved from one house to another attacking innocent people.

Several persons sustained injuries during the raid, and many families fled to escape the violence. Efforts to reach the Plateau State Police Command Spokesman SP Alfred Alabo, for more details were unsuccessful.
