During an interactive session with stakeholders, DIG Achinyan stressed that actionable intelligence is now the backbone of modern policing.

“Actionable intelligence remains central to effective policing,” he said.

He reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, and service excellence, while conveying IGP Disu’s pledge to strengthen strategic partnerships with communities to improve intelligence sharing and promote lasting peace.

The visit also featured a separate morale-boosting engagement with officers and men of the Borno Command.

Both DIGs commended personnel for their resilience and sacrifices in a “challenging operational environment,” particularly in counter-insurgency and stabilization operations.

They urged officers to remain disciplined, proactive, and intelligence-driven in confronting emerging threats.

Addressing the troops, the DIGs said that the command’s contributions to ongoing counter-insurgency efforts are acknowledged and appreciated, while encouraging them to deepen community engagement as a tactical tool.

Discussions centered on improving public trust, enhancing information flow from communities, and aligning operational plans with local realities.

The event drew top police and community leaders, including AIG Usman Mu’azu Mohammed, Commandant, Police College Maiduguri, AIG Dahiru Mohammed, AIG Zone 15, covering Borno and Yobe and CP Naziru Abdulmajid, Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command.

Representatives of the Police Community Relations Committee, (PCRC) Members of the Police Officers’ Wives Association, (POWA) Traditional rulers and religious leaders were also present.
