No fewer than 30 people are feared dead following an overnight attack on Noridon Village, Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack, which occurred on Sunday night, reportedly claimed the lives of women and children and left several houses razed, plunging the community into mourning.
Residents told 9News Nigeria that attackers stormed the village at about 1:00a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, shooting indiscriminately.
Two community sources, identified as Ibrahim John and Mallam Katuka confirmed the incident.
Further information obtained from residents of the affected community indicates that at least 30 bodies have so far been recovered, with fears that the death toll could rise as search and recovery efforts continue.
The identities of the attackers and the exact casualty figure could not be independently verified as of press time, efforts to obtain the reaction of the Kaduna State Police Command were unsuccessful as calls to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan we not answered.
The latest attack has heightened concerns over the worsening security situation in Kauru Local Government Area and other vulnerable communities across Southern Kaduna.
